We're going to Aceh this June to attend an epic surf event at Simeulue. RPG (Rampagoe) a surf team founded in Aceh helped our brand in supporting this huge event  next month. We were asked to create a design that represents RPG and KABAU combined and will be applicated on a few T-shirts as an official merchandise.

We just had a trip to West Sumatera, Lampung awhile ago, very nice scenery very spiritual in away. I met with the locals here and very surprisingly willing to share their experience that they face everyday at the islands we took allot of advice along the way, that will help us create new ideas which will hopefully take our work to a new level, a rewarding trip that sets us away from all the brutal images and thoughts we see in the city. The people here are very calm, they only take what they need and consume what needs to be consumed, very different from Jakarta where everyday is like a war zone.

KABAU

In the year 2011 I met up with a couple of my friends & we started to plan a business, a company who specializes in handmade wooden products (sunglasses, rings, bracelet etc.) from recycled skateboard and men's, women's, kids' lifestyle street wear.
We always dreamed on being a part of a movement, talking about what will be the next big thing in the future. It is quite simple for picking the right name for this business, since our ancestors are from West Sumatra, we adopted the name KABAU from a West Sumatran tribe Minang Kabau. We took the pride of the tribe and the beliefs hoping that it’ll make a huge impact on the movement of the business, and we created the brand.
